It was a disappointing; frustrating; finite moment on the very first bite on Okra which were harvested from our vegetable garden, It's awfully slimy. No matter how did I treat it... into soup; deep-fry; stir-fry; stew... it's still awfully slimy.
The sliminess of it's dish as if you are tasting a bowl of slugs swimming there.
This dish is my last try ... scrambled eggs stir fry with Okra (added a handful finely chopped basil leaves), the eggs absorbed a lot of goop, but I bet it still won't be your favorite dish.
sorry to say... but we will discard those Okra plants and replace their spots with cherry tomatoes and banana peppers... so bad...we babied them from little dinky young plants, and it was joyful to see their growing...maturing... flowering and fruiting... I feel sore as I have abandoned my children and let them dry died in wild.
I looked online, it says cook fresh; small Okra briefly can reduce it's sliminess, ok... I am still sad anyway.
