I was never a good cook... or should I say I never was a patient cook, it means I never can follow with recipes! So I always make very different dishes even I was originally going to make the dishes from the recipes. Alan has very good patient, so he can make perfect cake, cookie, pies... in other words... he makes 'A' in the lab kitchen!

Soy Sauced Fish - Typical Shanghai style cooking.
deep fry each side of the fish, till the meat turns brown color, then add water; sugar; garlic; ginger; chopped Chinese chive; salt; soy sauce, cover the wok till the fish is done.  

Wood Ear Stir Fry Shrimp -  5mins Chinese cooking, good for lazy people such as me!
sock Wood Ear ('Mu Er' Chinese mushroom, be careful, don't buy the 'Yun Er' even they look very similar) till they are expended totally (usually it takes 15 to 30 minutes). 3 table spoon oil, heated, then add chopped garlic; Wood Ear; shrimps and seasonings, salt, chopped Chinese chives, stir fry till shrimps are curled, add broccolis, then stir for 2 minutes, it's done.
