Oct 29, 2004 NYC

This time was the second time we went to NYC, it's still crowded and dirty (sorry to say it) as most of big cities. Very similar to Shanghai the city I was born and came from. NYC is much bigger and much more expensive.
We took 6:40am bus to NYC, it dropped us a few blocks away from Chinese consulate, Chinese consulate crews were very efficient, totally different as some people complained about on forums, we completed our application of visa extension within 10 minutes! WOW!

Decoration in Chinese Consulate - very pretty and graceful!... looks like a fine jade carving.

Cheese cakes - I remember I made a wish when I was a kid --- one day, I want to eat as many pork chops as I can! ... this wish reminds me food shortage during my childhood.
And now, when I was attempted by those 'evil' looking cheese cakes... I made a wish... wish one day, I can be skinny enough so that I can eat as many cheese cake as I want! ...

Chinese artist on street - I don't remember the exact time when was this kind of art invented? was it around middle of 1980's?

My favorite Chinese artist  - this street artist knitted animals and sea lives vividly. I am just not sure whether the color of those works will be deteriorated after a while? Well... as someone said... the most important part is you have ever had it, and don't have to be have it forever!

Shanghai Old Restaurant - this one was very popular in Chinatown, their dishes has real 'Shanghainese' taste. Especially their tiny steaming bunds which is almost impossible for me to make at home... well, it will be my next big project in the kitchen!
